There is tremendous power in giving. Great world leaders, high achievers and extremely successful people have always been the greatest givers. Napoleon Hill said, “I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve others.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “One cannot sincerely help another without helping themselves.”

There are Divine Universal Laws that play in the backgrounds of our lives. Even though these laws are always consistent, there is beauty and magic in the way they work . The Law of Reciprocity is one such law.

When we give, we are opening a channel, creating a new energy that can be shared, forwarded, circulated and recycled over and over again. In giving, we are creating. Is our ultimate purpose for being to create?

Giving does not necessarily mean money. It could be the giving of our time, attention, energy, assistance and kindness. All of these things are free and we have an unlimited supply of these things, so why not give them away? When you give, it is then that you receive and not sooner.

Advocating giving to get, but I will say that getting is impossible without first giving… it is Universal Law. I am advocating giving to give for the sheer joy it. In doing so, you’re creating positive energy on so many levels. On one level, your gift is helping the receiver, and on another level, you are raising your own vibration, which not only benefits you, but benefits everyone around you.

I’ve put this to the test. I love walking at my neighborhood park. There’s a running path around the perimeter of the park and it is usually populated with people morning, noon and night. I’m a friendly and outgoing person by nature and I smile at people as we cross paths. Not everybody smiles back, but most people do and when they do, I feel a surge of energy, and I am certain they do to. I would also venture to guess that they will have a smile to give to the next person they see…

Think about how good it feels when you receive something. Just yesterday I was shopping with my child for a memory card that holds music on a cell phone. While in the electronics department, we could not find one, so we asked one of the clerks. He couldn’t find what we were looking for, so he called over two other clerks. Together, these young men were determined to get us what we wanted. Their customer service was impeccable. Not only did I walk away with a memory card in hand, but even more importantly, I walked away feeling loved and honored that these young men were passionate about serving me. They didn’t get a bonus or reward for their outstanding efforts, but I could feel their joy and sense of satisfaction in a job well done.

To live an excellent life, we must be excellent givers. Giving truly makes the world go round. Look for an opportunity to give today and notice how good it makes you feel to give freely.

Generosity comes from a giving and open heart. Life is really very simple, what you give out comes back to you in great abundance. The secret is to give from a joyful place with no expectation of anything in return. For some people, the greatest satisfaction has come from giving anonymously. That is about as pure as giving can be.

There are 7 ways in which generosity can help you in your life:

Be generous with your time …
Stay fully present with each encounter, as if this moment, is the most important, and nothing else exists.

Be generous with your words …
Never miss an opportunity to tell someone how you feel about them, or something they have done. A word of encouragement, a note of appreciation, a sincere compliment, can brighten someone’s day and even change a life.

Be generous with your thoughts …
Think the best of others, and see them as they would like to be, and not as they are now.

Be generous with your money …
Find an occasion to share what you have with others. Money is like love, the more you give away, the more returns to you.

Be generous with your heart …
Keep it open, no matter how frightening that may be sometimes. An open heart will heal every ailment and restore peace to your soul.

Be generous with your smile …
Give it away to everyone you meet, and see the world reflected back to you, in joyous celebration.

Be generous with your love … It is who you really are, and why you came here, and in the end, it is all that really matters anyway.

Giving has been called the First Law of All Creation. It has also been said that there is a Universal Law of Giving and Receiving, or that giving and receiving are the same. To clarify, quoting Kathleen Rainbow, “For anything to function effectively, there needs to be some kind of structure. There are laws that govern our universe called Universal Laws. These laws apply to everything, everywhere at all times in our universe. These laws enable our universe to function in an orderly fashion. Without these laws there would be chaos in the universe. By studying, understanding, cooperating, and applying these Universal Laws in our daily lives we can lead the most successful, fulfilling, abundant, joyful and healthy life possible.”

In today’s modern society, human consciousness is awakening to a primary law governing the creation of abundance; ‘Giving and Receiving are one and the same. To give is to receive. To receive is to give.’ A conviction of universal oneness remains at the heart of this thought system, thus when we give, we do not lose what we give, rather, we receive more of what we give. Lester Levenson, the inspiration behind The Sedona Method, used to say, “In the end, you discover that the only one you have ever helped is you.” So when we give peace, we receive more peace. When we give money, we receive more money. And when we give love, we receive more love. When we accept as a core belief that giving and receiving are the same, we thrive.

Whenever we give with no expectation of receiving something back in return, we are allowing the energy of the universe to flow naturally and powerfully, coming back to us many times over and in many ways. But when a gift is given to acquire something, this is really barter and similar to commerce. This attention on receiving, or getting something back, creates unseen blocks or resistance to receiving. An attitude of “getting” creates a blocked-up condition, a paralyzed state. As long as we maintain a desire for “getting” and an attitude of “getting,” we shut out the spirit of giving, and this limits the flow of good that can come to us. When we are truly giving, we are not eager for of any type of payback. If we simply give to get, we cause the flow to stop. When we give from the heart and with no expectations, we will receive much more.

This really is all about giving and about how giving will come back to you many times over. : It’s based on universal laws and principles that have stood the test of time.

Most people are familiar with the saying, “Give and you shall receive.” Many have seen this principle operating in their lives. It’s simply one manifestation of the Law of Cause and Effect.

Sometimes this law proves itself almost immediately; other times, it takes years. Sometimes the result comes directly from the cause, and other times indirectly. Some people seem to experience the results of this law more tangibly and in ways easier to understand than do others. But we all know intuitively that this law works.

Why does this law work? Why do we receive so abundantly when we give?

In his 1910 book, The Science of Getting Rich, Wallace D. Wattles set down certain rules that will help you become prosperous if you follow them. When he talks about being rich, he’s talking specifically about financial riches, not the many other excellent interpretations, such as personal fulfillment, happiness, health, and so forth. But he also makes the point (which I heartily subscribe to) that if you become wealthy the right way, then those other important aspects of your life will become just as healthy as your finances.

Here is one of Mr. Wattles’s rules to becoming rich:

Always give more in use value than what you take in cash value. You cannot give a person more in cash value than you take from them, but you can give them more in use value than the cash value of the thing you take from them.

What does this mean? On the surface, he’s saying that when you sell a product or service, although you’d go broke if your product or service cost you more than you took in financially, you can actually provide a product or service that adds more value to those customers’ lives than the cash value they paid for it, while making a profit at the same time.

He describes this in terms of his own book (which back in 1910 must have sold for a fraction of today’s $12 price tag):

The paper, ink and other material in this book may not be worth the money you paid for it. But, if the ideas in this book bring you thousands of dollars, you have not been wronged by those who sold it to you. They have given you a great use value for a small cash value.

Wattles was discussing this principle in terms of a direct sale. However, we’re talking about the value you give, not in selling your products or services, but simply in the relationship you’re beginning with a new networking partner. Given that, let’s take a deeper look at what Mr. Wattles wrote. Taking the passage above that says, “You cannot give a person more in cash value than you take from them, but you can give them more in use value than the cash value of the thing you take from them,” let’s rephrase and condense it:

Give someone more in use value than what you take from them.

This simply means, always do your best to add to the other person’s life and success, without concern—especially at the beginning—for what you are receiving from the relationship.

There’s an excellent reason why this attitude will help you accomplish much and reach great financial heights. Again, according to Mr. Wattles:

People are built with a desire for increase in their lives.

When carefully considered, his statement makes perfect sense. After all, human technology has advanced considerably since the beginning of recorded history. This is so because human beings desire increase, whether in their health, wealth, convenience, artistic sense, spiritual lives, or in any other way imaginable.

This is why, when you have a product, service, or skill that can help people increase an aspect of their lives, you can make a lot of money.

A few quick examples: Percy L. Spencer, the inventor of the microwave oven, satisfied the desire for more convenience. Debbi Fields, founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies, tapped into people’s desire for more pleasure, as did a man by the name of Candido Jacuzzi. There are many, many more examples on a local level—from the person who helps people satisfy their desire for an increase in their financial security by helping them invest in the right financial growth products, to the computer troubleshooter who helps his customers satisfy their desire for increase in the work they can accomplish on their computers.

When people sense that just by being associated with you, their lives will experience significant increase, they will naturally want to advance the relationship. And they will do so by doing their best to give back to you.

No matter what your profession, if you can give increase of life to others and make them sensible [i.e., “aware”] of this gift, they will be attracted to you, and you will get rich. – W.D. Wattle

In business , there is a tremendous amount of social interplay, which would normally involve different people from various backgrounds, races and cultures. A wise business Entrepreneur’s goal in the beginning phase of his business should not just be based on making the money, and gaining the most profit for the business, but also to provide the utmost quality of the products, and the best of services to his clients. The same effort must be given to all the new and also to all the existing clients.

From the obvious standpoint of a smart Entrepreneur, he should consider that good services would provide a chance for added business to his Company, by having referrals from existing clients. Most clients always remember the good service from a business establishment. To remember the face who provides the service is sometimes not common. Unless the service was excellent, the face of that special someone who may have provided such good service, will be remembered by that particular grateful client.

On each side of the giving and the receiving end, both will mutually benefit from the integrity of the transactions. Mutual trust and respect will then be gained, and loyalty from the client’s side will be established. It will not take long to see your business thrive because of you and your business ethics. People always return to an establishment which served them with good business and excellent service. In the end, a change to make more money and an added opportunity to make the most profits will come, without so much effort on your part.
More business will smoothly flow into the open door of your hefty bank account!

Law of Giving decrees that you get what you give.

Giving, however, is not just about giving money or about giving to others. Giving includes giving time, talent, treasures, love, support, understanding, patience, and giving through physical and emotional support (action) to yourself as well as to others.

The definition of ‘Give’ includes hundreds of ways that the action of ‘giving’ is fulfilled, including:

to bring forth or to bear

to yield or produce

to furnish or contribute

to proffer to another

to be a source of

to make gifts or donations

In order to receive, you must give; in order to achieve, you must take action.

There is a reciprocal action that occurs with every action you take. When you hear spiritual teachers say that giving and receiving are the same, it’s because the Universe must create balance and as you give, you shall receive. For every action you take there is an equal (or greater) reaction that must be returned to you. For every thought you submit, the balance sheet is adjusted and the Universe must return like energy into your life.

When you see a beggar with a sign asking for help-your first reaction is that he will use the money to buy drugs or alcohol.

It doesn’t matter WHAT he does with the money – what matters is that you GIVE!!! Thank you, God, for getting the opportunity to give!

What I have discovered, with my own walk of giving and with working with clients, is that we ALL have reasons to NOT give and reasons NOT to take action:

We ALL have reasons to NOT give and reasons NOT to take action:

I don’t have the time.

I don’t have the extra money.

I don’t think it will do that person any good.

I don’t want to put forth the effort.

It will take too long to see any results from me taking
that road.

I don’t want that kind of commitment.

I don’t want it to be hard.

I’m afraid there won’t be enough .

I’m afraid that I can’t make ends meet if I give it away.

I’m afraid that I will be more exhausted if I commit to
giving my time in that way.

I’m afraid I’ll fail if I take action on that.

I’m afraid that if I ‘do this’ then I’ll be successful and
success will create less freedom.

I’m afraid I’ll be taken for granted if I give any more
love to my significant other.

I’m afraid I’ll be ‘used’ if I give more.

I’m afraid people will expect it from now on, if I start
giving.

I’ll do it later.

This is anti-prosperity consciousness. Scarcity consciousness will prevent you from giving and from courageously taking action.

If you find that you have reasons or excuses for not giving, then you can rest assured that somewhere in your subconscious mind (and your vibration) is the fear that there isn’t enough for you (or you’re not enough) and therefore you can’t give more.

Scarcity consciousness, poverty consciousness, lack consciousness – any subconscious thought that causes you to NOT give and to NOT take action will prevent you from having the abundant and fulfilled life you desire.

Anti-prosperity consciousness actually resonates with the poverty, lack, scarcity, struggle, redundancy, effort, hardship, distress, and deprivation that you DON’T want!

Remember, every thought holds a vibrational frequency that attracts into our lives a parallel experience.

When we neutralize the negative thoughts, we dissipate the negative vibes and the vibes that remain are the pure, positive thoughts about the life we really want!

Try the following:

Even though I don’t have enough ‘time/money/talent’ to share, what if I accepted my divine potential and shared freely anyway?

Even though I’m afraid to give my ‘money/time’ away, what if I fearlessly gave freely and joyously?

Even though I don’t want to give any more than I do, what if I looked forward to giving freely and openly?

Even though I’m afraid that there won’t be any extra (or enough), what if I allowed the Universe to support and flow abundance to me and I chose to give, now?

Even though I don’t trust what ‘they’ will do with my money, what if I loved the act of giving so much that I gave freely and without attachment?

Even though I’m afraid to take action, I might make a mistake, what if I fearlessly and courageously took action anyway?

Even though I withhold and am selfish with my ‘time/money/talent/things’, what if I could choose to give freely and openly every time?

Even though I procrastinate, what if I took bold action regularly and consistently, now?

Negative reminders:

This fear that there’s not enough.

This fear that I’ll make a mistake.

This fear that I can’t do it perfectly.

This doubt that I’ll ever have enough.

This inability to trust in the Universe.

This lack of belief that I’m meant to be prosperous.

This inability to believe that as I give, I shall receive.

This procrastination.

This fear that I’ll be taken for granted/used/abused.

This inactivity.

This self-sabotage.

Positive Implants:

What if I openly and freely gave of my
time/talent/treasures?

What if I loved giving freely?

What if I trusted in my divine inheritance?

What if I held absolute faith that as I give, I shall receive and then some?

What if I gave freely without attachment to the outcome?

What if I gave just because it felt good?

What if I allowed myself to test the law of giving and just gave from my heart fearlessly?

What if I trusted myself to set appropriate boundaries and still give freely?

What if I followed my inspired desire to give and took bold, courageous consistent action, now?

What if I never passed up an opportunity to give?

Remember, every time you refuse to give and every time you refuse to take inspired/aligned action is a missed opportunity to take one more step towards your goal of prosperous, joy-filled living!

Visualize what you want using creative visualization and the law of attraction.

Eventually, if you take enough action and you give enough that ‘one more step’ will be the victory step; that one last step will be the one at the top!

Gifting has opened many hearts to enormous gratitude and compassion by allowing people to give without wanting something back in return. This opening of the heart causes grace to flow in many unexpected ways as we recognize the abundance and oneness that comes from knowing there is more than enough to give, not just receive.

“Imagine for a moment what will happen to our world as more of us start giving without wanting anything back in return. Picture a world filled with love and compassion and people are helping each other for no reason—a world where everyone has more then enough. The possibilities are endless and easily within our reach. Positive change begins with you. Start practicing giving today and notice what happens.” – Hale Dwoskin

The law of giving and receiving is really another way of explaining the law of attraction. A long time ago it was referred to as reaping what we sow. This law is very alive, very active and ready to serve you to prosperity if you will pay attention to it in business. The bottom line in business is that we attract who we are. So when you look at your business you see a bunch of failures, you see people who are whining, you see people who aren’t willing to go the extra mile and are always trying to get things done the cheapest, fastest, easiest way we might need to look in the mirror before we read another book on how to become successful. <!--

In business and in life we tend to be most critical of what we are most guilty of. The law of attraction reveals that birds of a feather do flock together. We hang out with those who are most like ourselves and oftentimes the very thing we dislike in someone else is what we dislike in ourselves.

So how can we benefit from this law? You are 100% in complete control of your chooser. What is your chooser? Your will. You are 100% in control of what you think, what you believe, what you do. So if where you are right now in business reveals to you that you need to change, than do it. Take action now. Inaction is a greater risk in business.
